Creativity as a Mechanism for Coping

Empowerment is the process through which individuals gain the ability to make choices, access resources, and develop a sense of autonomy and self-worth. For migrant women, empowerment can manifest through various means, including economic independence, education, social connections, and political participation.

Creativity plays a crucial role in this process, allowing women to express their identities, share their stories, and cope with the challenges they encounter. Migrant women often face significant barriers, such as language difficulties, discrimination, and social isolation. Engaging in creative practices, such as art, writing, music, or crafts, provides a therapeutic outlet for expressing emotions and experiences.

Art can serve as a powerful medium for storytelling, enabling migrant women to share their journeys and challenges in ways that can resonate with others. This expression not only fosters personal healing but also raises awareness about the issues facing migrant populations.
